Ladies! Who’s ready to go shopping? What are you needing in your closet this fall? I have been saving up some money and researching new fall lines to see what I want to purchase for my closet. Many of my friends ask where I shop for ethical clothes. Since there are already so many great ethical lists already out there, we will give you a list of our current favorite shops.
Please note: You will see clothes on this blog from shops we do not consider ethical. For me, those pieces were consigned or have been in my closet for years. I am working toward more than 30 wears for each piece I own. Since I have a minimalist wardrobe, most of my clothes see that many wears in a few months.
Let’s get started.
New Favorite: Vetta Capsule
I have been following Vetta Capsule for a year. While I LOVE all of their capsules, few pieces felt practical for my working mom lifestyle (in Oklahoma). Then…THEN, they came out with their Minimal Capsule in September. I started counting my pennies. I received my first piece, Oversized Sweater, and love it.
Jeans: Mott & Bow
I admittedly hate jeans. They pull on my mom belly and are usually too short for my style (I’m 5’11). I am also in between sizes and get very concerned about purchasing online. Enter beautiful Mott & Bow. Purchase a pair of jeans and they’ll send you an extra size to try on. Perfect for me!
Everything (dresses, shirts, pants, etc): Amour Vert
I love Amour Vert! I love their style. One of my favorite dresses is from Amour Vert.
Sandals: Sseko Designs
They have great sandals (I have two pairs), jewelry, & leather bags!
White Tennies: Etiko
I am obsessed with white tennis shoes. I wear them with just about everything, but I love them with dresses!
Closet Basics: Everlane
I love Everlane as well! They will have basic pieces for your wardrobe. Your basic shirts, jeans, sweaters, and skirts. I have one of my basic skirts from their shop, along with some basic shirts.
Unique Pieces: Trove
Trove is a new online boutique based out of Austin. They have beautiful new pieces coming out every few months. They just launched their winter line and it is gorgeous!!
Boutiques: Remedy Road
If you are in Tulsa, this is our closest fair trade/ethical boutique. It's worth the road trip to Bentonville and Crystal Bridges to check out their boutique. They also have an online store.
Athletic Clothes: Albion Fit & Girlfriend Collective
These two brands are great! Albion Fit has beautiful swimwear and workout clothes. I love my leggings from them. I also love my free leggings from the Girlfriend Collective. Now, I don't let people take pictures of me in workout clothes. So, you'll just have to trust me! (wink)
Local Consignment Shops:
Local consignment shops are my chance to “go shopping.” When I travel, I also love to google local consignment shops. I have found beautiful dresses, a rockstar leather jacket when I visited Iceland, and cute shoes!
Tulsa Shops: SoBoCo, Echo Shop, & Once Upon A Child
There are many other wonderful brands to purchase from. These are just some of the brands I have purchased from and love. Purchasing ethically will cost you more, as it should. So, it is best to know your personal style and what you currently need in your closet before you go shopping!
Have you tried any of these brands? What are some of your favorites?
